From now on, Android users with ARCore compatible devices will be able to shoot and publish the images on Google Street View.

With a new update made by Google Maps

it allows you to create Street View photos using only one phone. From now on, Android users with ARCore compatible devices will be able to shoot and publish the images on Google Street View .

Currently active in certain regions, the feature is first opened to users in Toronto, New York, Austin, Nigeria, Indonesia and Costa Rica. Note that the feature will be available in more regions in the near future.

Thanks to this new feature, Google will be able to take advantage of user-generated content when they do not have their own Street View imagery. In fact, users were able to add images to Street View in the past. However, this required a 360 degree camera. Note that with this new update, users will be able to add photos taken with their standard phones.

Stafford Marquardt, product manager for Google Maps Street View, said:

Despite the fact that our own Street View crawlers and vehicles gather in excess of 170 billion pictures from 10 million miles of the planet, there are as yet numerous parts of the world that are not planned. At the point when individuals add to connected photographs, they will show up as dabbed blue lines in the Street View layer on Google Maps.

The feature that Google has been testing for months is now in beta. Photos taken with the Street View Android app will be automatically rotated and positioned appropriately by Google. In addition, images can be used to update information on Google Maps.
