If, like me, you are a big fan of boho interiors , then you probably already know the decorative palm fronds . They are available in large and small in various online shops. They look great with macramees or light terracotta and immediately bring a touch of distant lands into your home. But did you know that you can easily make beautiful boho decorations yourself? Homemade palm leaves made of paper are also a quick gift idea and you will probably have most of the items at home:
MATERIAL FOR YOUR PALM LEAVES MADE OF PAPER
Light brown wrapping paper or wrapping paper or baking paper
A scissors
Glue
Paper straws
Possibly a pencil
As you can see, you really don't need a lot of material for making palm leaves out of paper and you are sure to have one of the above-mentioned types of paper at home. All papers have their own special properties. Make sure that the wrapping paper is colored on both sides.

PALM LEAVES MADE OF PAPER - STEP BY STEP
It is very easy to conjure up a palm frond out of any paper you like. Once you get started, you'll want to try different variations of the pretty boho doko . This DIY is really very easy, little by little you can refine the approach and make more complicated subjects.
In the first step , I cut out two rectangles of roughly the same size from my brown paper. For this purpose, I roughly sketched a large rectangle beforehand, cut it out and then cut it in half. Exactly straight lines and cuts are not so important here.
If you have your two rectangles of about the same size you fold them into an accordion , make sure that the strips are as similar as possible.
In the third step, we take care of the straw, which will later become the stem of your paper palm leaves . Cut narrow strips of paper and apply glue to your straw. Then wrap the paper strip around it. Make sure that the color of the straw doesn't show through. Other inaccuracies such as cut edges, on the other hand, are not as bad and can even appear more natural.
Your two accordions will now be glued to each other, at the bottom you glue the paper-clad straw in place.
So that you can fan out the palm frond, it is now wrapped with a
paper bandage
at the point where the straw is embedded .
